A Traditional Scouting Association for all ages and genders that is focused on traditional, open and inclusive, outdoor and service programs.

We are based in the West Seattle neighborhood of Seattle, Washington. We have two activities per month. We meet in the first week of the of the month either at the Youngstown Cultural Arts Center, the adjacent Delridge park, or Pathfinder Headquarters, depending on the age group and weather. We also have a weekend meeting every month typically in the afternoon of the 3rd Sunday but the day and time vary by activity and location.

We are an official scout group of the Baden-Powell Service Association ( BPSA-US.org ), a member of the World Federation of Independent Scouts ( WFIS.org ). We are "Friends with All Other Scouts", and unaffiliated with the Girl Scouts of America (GS-USA) and the Boy Scouts of America (BSA).

We current have 4 active sections: Otters, Timberwolves, Pathfinders, and Rovers. We also have the unofficial Chipmunk section for younger children. This year a few of our activities included:

  • Our Timberwolves worked at the Tiny house community project to help build homes for the homeless. They also self-organized a fund raiser for the supporting organization.
  • Our Timberwolves held a bake sale to raise money for Seattle Children's Hospital. The Otters made ornaments for sale at the same event, and they held this at the community center where meetings are held.
  • Our Otters raised money and purchased hygiene kits for the homeless. They also helped clear blackberry bushes and other invasive species at a local Delridge park.
  • We went camping several times. The Otters have 3 trips per year with a parent/guardian, the Timberwolves go on 4-5 camping trips, and our Pathfinders will be going on 4+ trips that they help plan and execute.
  • The entire troop also participated in the regional Hullabaloo (camp out) near Vancouver, WA with 300+ other scouts from other BPSA troops.
  • We often hiked the amazing parks in West Seattle: Lincoln park, Fauntleroy park, Schmitz Park, Longfellow creek urban trail, Camp Long, and Alki beach to name a few.
  • The scouts learned outdoor skills like fire building, trail signs, knot tying, first aid, orienteering and many others.
  • The program is also focused on building self reliance and accountability.
